Dr. B. Sivapathasundharam is a distinguished dental academician, researcher, oral and maxillofacial pathologist and academic administrator with more than 36 years of experience in dental education, research, academic administration and professional service. He holds an MDS in Oral Pathology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sivapathasundharam has made significant contributions to dental education, oral pathology, scientific research and academic leadership. He has served in several senior academic and administrative positions, including Director and Principal, Priyadarshini Dental College and Hospital; Principal, Meenakshi Ammal Dental College; and Registrar (Academic) and Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research.
An active researcher and author, he has published more than 200 scientific articles in reputed national and international journals. His academic interests include oral and maxillofacial pathology, potentially malignant disorders, oral cancer, research methodology, scientific writing and contemporary developments in dental and health sciences.

He has served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Indian Society for Dental Research, Journal of Education and Ethics in Dentistry, and Journal of Forensic Dental Sciences, and as Editor of the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.
He is the author of Shafers Textbook of Oral Pathology and Textbook of Oral Embryology and Histology, developed for undergraduate dental education. He has also contributed to several other academic and scholarly initiatives that support dental education and scientific learning.
His contributions to dental education and the profession have been recognised through several honours and professional distinctions, including the prestigious IAOMP Lifetime Achievement Award.
